MAESTRO MOSAICS INTRODUCES ECO-FRIENDLY COCONUT SHELL TILES
Products debut at Surfaces Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas
CHICAGO --
Feb 1, 2006 --
Coconut shells are given another “life” as Chicago-based Maestro Mosaics by Granite & Marble Resources, Inc., which carries the most extensive collection of glass and stone mosaics under one roof, introduces its new line of coconut shell tiles and home accessories. Debuting at Surfaces in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 31-Feb. 3, 2006, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, the intricately designed coconut shell tiles are inspired by Bali’s traditional, artistic culture. “We travel the world looking for resources that will become joyful products in American homes and beyond. We’ve been researching functional art products for many years, and are so pleased to introduce this new line of coconut shell tiles and products to the American market,” said Robert Briggs, vice president and general manager of Maestro Mosaics by Granite & Marble Resources, Inc. Bali’s long tradition of art is evident in the elaborate weaving patterns of the coconut shell products. The manufacturers have created several patterns based on the unique weaving technique. The coconut shell tile’s ideal use would be on wall surfaces or as a detailed accent piece used with other natural materials such as glass and stone tile, which ultimately will create a warm, natural ambiance for any room of the home. The new line includes 12-inch square tiles or circular tiles. Having a ceramic backing, the coconut shell tiles are grouted like stone and allow for complete ease of installation by professionals or individual consumers. The coconut shell vessel sinks, which have an eco-friendly protective coating, come in different patterns, while home accessories such as a tissue box and soap dish are also available in various patterns and styles. Additional features of the new product line include an affordable price point and ease of maintenance.
